This introductory course has been designed to guide you through the fundamentals of coaching – what it is (and what it isn’t), where it comes from, the different ways it is practiced, and the mindset and skills coaches use every day.
Whether you are exploring coaching as a new career, as part of your leadership role, or simply out of curiosity, this course offers you a clear and engaging starting point.

This course has been designed with the following people in mind –
- Aspiring coaches who are exploring the possibility of a coaching certification,
- A trainer or facilitator who wants to up-skill with coaching skills,
- A HR Professional who is ready to incorporate coaching in to the workplace, or those who are
- Curious about professional coaching and what it entails to see if it is a fit for them.
What to Expect…
During this 6-hour learning experience, you are given the opportunity to:
- Reflect on your personal and professional adventure thus far and discover whether coaching could be a pathway you would like to pursue further.
- Engage with interactive pre-work to explore and develop your comprehension on the foundations of coaching, and
- Join a live three-hour online workshop where you can connect with peers, deepen your comprehension of coaching, and experience core coaching skills in practice.
This interactive course gives you clarity on what coaching really is, how it works, and whether it could be the right path for you.

What Is Included?
To maximise learning, the Fundamentals of Coaching course has been designed in 2 parts. Within the 6-hour course, you will have access to –

Part 1 – is asynchronous learning and include the Fundamentals of Coaching e-booklet. The e-booklet has been designed with reflection activities for 3 hours of asynchronous self-study.

Part 2 – is a 3-hour live and interactive online workshop. The workshop has been designed to consolidate the learning from the e-booklet and introduce participants to some key coaching skills.

About the Facilitator / Coach
Jane Taylor
Jane has a Masters of Education, ICF PCC and Mentor Coach, facilitator and registered teacher. She was born in Maitland, NSW. In her first career, Jane was a professional tennis player. Since 2002 (her second career), Jane has been a registered teacher working in a variety of roles within P-12 education and VET across Australia.
In 2011, Jane opened her business Habits for Wellbeing. Jane is passionate about supporting people through “(Un)Learning to Reconnect, Realign and Reclaim Your Potential – so You Can Express Your Purpose and BE Whole-Heartedly YOU… One Habit at a Time..”
Her other interests include going to the movies, being physically active, reading and catching up with family and friends. She currently resides on the Gold Coast.
