Is Time To Get Unstuck in Your Life?

JT - Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don't belong

I have been having a few conversations lately about “being stuck”, with some people who are feeling stuck within their life. Subsequently, today I am going to discuss –

  • What Does Stuck Mean?
  • The Meaning of Stuck for You…
  • What is Being Stuck Costing You?
  • Why Is Getting Unstuck Important?

What Does Stuck Mean?

Simply, the definitions of stuck as an adjective say –

When we refer this to life, an example could be a person feeling stuck in their career.

The Meaning of Stuck for You…

After reading the above definitions on stuck, what does being stuck mean for you? Maybe something like –

  • feeling stuck or fixed about a situation?, or
  • stuck in unhealthy behaviours or habits and not sure about how to make a move?, or
  • not seeing any way to move from a challenging situation?

How often do you think of making a change? Whether it is a project, goal or starting a new career?

Maybe you push it to the side to try and avoid thinking about it, however it inevitably comes back around. Or maybe the project stares at you each time you go in to your home office?

What is Being Stuck Costing You?

What is the true cost of being stuck for you? Maybe it is –

  • Peace of mind,
  • Perspective on life,
  • Time,
  • Love,
  • Sleep,
  • Energy,
  • Relationships,
  • Fulfilment,
  • Productivity,
  • Financial income,
  • Sense of humour, or
  • Overall health.

Why is Getting Unstuck Important?

Getting unstuck is important as it helps you to be on your own side of life, be responsible, take ownership and accountability of your own life. It supports you to untangle from denial, abandoning and betraying your true Self (which is why I use a capital S). Basically standing in your own power and having confidence in yourself. The word “power” comes from the Latin word “posse”, which means “be able”. However, you would have to identify why it is important for you.

Questions for Reflection –

After reading the above post, you may like to reflect on the following questions –

  • What does it mean for you if you start to get unstuck in your life?
  • Are there any ways that you can consciously start to get unstuck in your life?
  • If so, what is one thing you could do this week to develop a greater friendship with yourself?

Over to You…

I hope this post has given you some understanding on being stuck. If you have any questions, please let me know below 🙂 Remember –
