Permission to Love
Today I have been reflecting on permission. The reflection was associated with the song Permission to Love by Hayden James.
As I was listening, the thought came up – why is it we wait to get permission or a nod from someone to love and create the life of our dreams.
You know what I am talking about, that nod or permission from the outside world to –
- Start that project or business.
- Say ‘No’ to things that don’t align with who you are.
- Let old friendships go that drain our energy or make us feel unwell.
- Change yourself and live life on your terms.
- Be your true selves and follow your own heart and intuition.
- Accept people for who they are and not try and change what other people think of you.
- Acknowledge “you are enough”, “worthy” and/or “capable.”
- Surround yourself with people who lift you up and inspire you.
You are wise and know that waiting for permission is stalling, wasting time. Deep down, you know that “if it is to be, then it’s up to me.” You know you are responsible, need to take full ownership and accountability for your life. However, do you live and behave that way?
Are you Ready to Give Yourself Permission to Love?
Yes, permission to –
- BE YOU.
- Connect to the Power of Intention.
- Identify your goals, values, dreams and vision for your life.
- Stop waiting for permission from other people to follow your own heart.
- Start taking small steps towards creating the life of your dreams so you can share your talents and gifts.
Final Words
I hope this post has inspired you to give yourself permission to do what you love whole-heartedly. Remember –
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves – Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking, so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are born to manifest the glory that is within us. It is not within some of us, it is in everyone.
And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.
